At Anfield: Liverpool 41 wins, Derby 6 wins, Draws 15.

Overall: Liverpool 64 wins, Derby wins 32, Draws 28.

The sides last met in April 2002 with Liverpool winning here 2-0. On the day Michael Owen was presented with the Ballon D’Or (European Footballer Of The Year) he scored twice. The win was the Reds seventh win in a row – the first time they had achieved the feat in the Premiership.

In that game Steven Gerrard made his 100th league appearance for the club.

The last Liverpool player to score a hat-trick against Derby was Emile Heskey in the Reds 4-0 victory at Pride Park in October 2000. It was his first for the club.

John Aldridge, in October 1987, was the last man to achieve the feat at Anfield.

Liverpool’s defeat here in November 1998 proved to be the last league game that saw Roy Evans and Gerard Houllier in joint charge. Evans left the club four days later.

The Reds have won 19 and lost three of the last 24 league meetings home and away.

The last goalless draw here between the teams was in October 1948.

Liverpool’s biggest home win over today’s opponents came in November 1932 when Gordon Hodgson hit a hat-trick in a 6-1 win.

However, their most emphatic victory over Derby saw them win 7-1 at the Baseball Ground in March 1991 while Ronnie Moran was caretaker-manager.

A win today will give Liverpool their best opening to a season (after four games) for nine years and will equal their best ever start to a Premiership campaign.

Liverpool have suffered only one defeat in the last 36 league games at Anfield.

Alvaro Arbeloa is the only outfield player to appear for every minute of Liverpool’s five games so far this season.

Seven different players have already scored for Liverpool this season in all competitions.

Derby were promoted last season via the play offs. They finished third in the Championship with 84 points, two behind Birmingham and four adrift of Champions Sunderland.

To reach the Premiership they defeated Southampton in the semi-final 4-3 on penalties after a 4-4 aggregate score before Stephen Pearson scored the only goal of the Final at Wembley to defeat West Brom. It was his first for the club since joining from Celtic in the January 2007 transfer window.

A 2-0 defeat on Derby’s last visit to Anfield in April 2002 saw the Rams relegated.

The last Rams player to score a hat-trick against Liverpool was Steve Bloomer in October 1912.

Derby have won only once in their last 20 visits to Anfield and scored only four times in the last 13 games here.

Their last victory on this ground came in November 1998 when Kevin Harper and Paolo Wanchope scored in a 2-1 win. They had lost the previous 10.
